Where Midwestern Charm Meets Western Spirit: Out of Home Advertising in St. Louis
October 3, 2024
St. Louis is a city of vibrance, filled with devoted sports fans, foodies, and beer lovers whose pride for our great city stands as high as the United States’ tallest monument, the St. Louis Arch. Our culture is a melting pot and flourishing city for brands looking to reach diverse and engaged audiences, and OUTFRONT’s out of home coverage captures both urban and suburban communities across the Gateway to the West, lining the highways that connect the city, county and St. Charles.
Walking around the STL you’re bound to hear the question, “Where did you go to high school?” at least once. The neighborhood you grew up in is gospel and represented proudly no matter where you go in the city. Regardless of where you grew up in “the Lou,” people here are always on the move, whether it be to check out the latest James Beard Award-winning restaurant, take a stroll through the third-best urban park in America, or visit one of the nation’s best free zoos.
Along major highways including Interstates 64, 44, 55, 70, 170 and 270, we offer static and digital bulletins. Intertwined into our neighborhoods’ fabric, our posters reach audiences where they live, work and play. St. Louisans celebrate what makes our city so great, and from Westport Social in St. Charles to the best Chinese food in North County, from Ted Drewes in South City to Busch Stadium in the heart of the city, you’ll find OUTFRONT. These canvases are part of our communities.
While some may consider St. Louis to be a part of the South, we stay true to our Midwest identity while taking influence from our French roots and western culture. This rich and diverse mix is represented in the makeup of our city, as you’ll find a growing diverse population and neighborhoods rich with different cultures. Our Midwestern charm shines brightly in our small/big city when you run into your neighbor or someone you went to high school with while traveling around the city. St. Louisans are deeply social and love connecting with the city and each other. Out of home advertising excels in St. Louis because of how connected to the city St. Louisans are, noticing billboard and poster advertising everywhere.
Being so connected to your city comes easily when you have the best sports teams in the country right in your hometown. We bleed red and blue for the Cardinals, Blues, the St. Louis Battlehawks, a founding team of the XFL (now the UFL). We also have the newest Major League Soccer team, St. Louis City SC, which sold out every home game of the season last year, making history for MLS expansion teams. The St. Louis Cardinals are one of the oldest teams in baseball and have won 11 World Series championships and 19 National League pennants. The Battlehawks have a fan base like no other. After losing two NFL teams, we’re ready to show our loyal support to our home teams and the teams that integrate themselves in our beloved city. Reaching gameday audiences is easy with this wallscape located right next to Busch Stadium as well as roadside inventory along the busiest routes to every major stadium.
We’re not only about amazing culinary staples, great sports, and even better beer, but we also have some amazing events. Did you know that the St. Louis Mardi Gras Parade is the biggest in the country outside New Orleans? Tens of thousands of people flood the streets of Soulard to celebrate and watch every February, come rain or shine. The St. Louis St. Patrick’s Day parade downtown and in our historic Irish neighborhood of Dogtown draws crowds of approximately 250,000 yearly. The Great Forest Park Balloon Race is one of the longest-running hot air balloon races in the country and one of the only ones in a large metropolitan city. More than 100,000 people each year gather in Forest Park to watch the signature two-day event. These traditions are not only marked on St. Louisans’ calendars, they also attract spectators from the entire Midwest and beyond.
St. Louis is a city like no other with fiercely loyal citizens, unique tourist attractions, great food, and a passionate sports culture. And if you want to reach us, OUTFRONT billboards are the way. Contact us today to learn more about advertising in the Gateway City!
